Android Auto doesn’t work on Samsung Galaxy phones

Android Auto suddenly stopped working or never connects when you use a Samsung Galaxy phone on your AT/NT1100.

❓ Cause

This issue often appears right after a monthly Samsung security patch update. It is a known issue on Samsung devices and usually affects the Android Auto app installation.

✅ Method 1 – Quick reset

  1. Step 1
Go to Settings → Apps → Android Auto and tap Force stop.
  2. Step 2
Still in Android Auto, tap Storage and then Clear data. Confirm when asked.
  3. Step 3
Go back to the Android Auto app info screen and tap Disable or Force disable, if available.
  4. Step 4
Open the Google Play Store, search for Android Auto, tap Uninstall updates, then Enable, if needed, and finally Update to install the latest version.

🧩 Method 2 – Revert Android Auto to the factory version

If Method 1 doesn’t solve the problem, you can follow these steps to completely remove the updates and go back to the factory version of Android Auto:

  1. Step 1
Open the phone Settings and tap Apps.
  2. Step 2
    Tap See all apps.
  3. Step 3
Scroll down, find and tap Android Auto to open the App info screen.
  4. Step 4
On the top right corner, tap the three dots ⋮ menu and choose Uninstall updates.
  5. Step 5
A message will appear asking to replace the app with the factory version. Tap OK to confirm.
After Method 1 or Method 2: reconnect your phone to the AT/NT1100 using the wireless dongle. In most cases, Android Auto will start working again immediately. If needed, you can then open the Google Play Store and update Android Auto to the latest version.

📶 Method 3 – Change the dongle delayed start mode

If Android Auto still does not start correctly on your AT/NT1100, change the dongle’s Delayed start setting to Mode 1.

If Mode 1 does not solve the issue, repeat the same steps and change it to Mode 2.

Important: power the dongle using a stable 5V USB power source (wall charger or powerbank). Do not use the USB port on the AT1100/NT1100.

1️⃣ First, connect your phone to the dongle Wi-Fi

  1. Step 1
Open your phone Wi-Fi settings and select the dongle network. It usually appears as 3DMP-Explorer-XXXX.
  2. Step 2
    Enter the Wi-Fi password: 88888888.
  3. Step 3
    Tap Connect.
  4. Step 4
If Android shows a warning saying that the network has no internet access, tap the notification.
  5. Step 5
When asked “Stay connected?”, tap Yes.
Connect to the dongle Wi-Fi network and accept the “no internet access” warning.

2️⃣ Then, change Delayed start to Mode 1

  1. Step 6
Open your phone browser and enter 192.168.1.101 in the address bar.
  2. Step 7
In the dongle settings page, find Delayed start. It is usually set to Default.
  3. Step 8
Tap Delayed start, select Mode 1, and tap OK.
  4. Step 9
Confirm that Delayed start now shows Mode 1.
  5. Step 10
After confirming that Mode 1 is active, remove the dongle from the stable 5V power source and insert it again so the changes are saved.
Open 192.168.1.101, change Delayed start to Mode 1, then remove and insert the dongle again.
If Mode 1 does not solve the issue: repeat the same steps, select Mode 2, tap OK, confirm that Mode 2 is active, then remove the dongle from the stable 5V power source and insert it again so the changes are saved.
Final step: after finishing the configuration, go back to your phone Wi-Fi settings and forget/delete the saved network 3DMP-Explorer-XXXX. Then reconnect the dongle to your AT/NT1100 and start the first setup of the Android Auto again.
